'North of Hollywood' doing?


'North of Hollywood' is currently in preproduction on our comedy short, "Melvin Goes to Lunch", the first of two planned short movie projects that comprise the initial phase of our "GRAND PLAN". These films will give us exposure, a chance to work together as an efficient team, and (God willing) a few film festival awards.

Our first films are both comedy shorts that are designed to be highly entertaining for our audience, but they are far from simple shorts. They will showcase our ability to produce high quality movies with little resources or money, and will become the first part of the 'North of Hollywood' Production Reel to show investors, studios, and distributors what we are capable of.

In our second phase, 'North of Hollywood' will begin producing feature films. Our first feature film will be a horror film titled, "Myths and Legends". It will be shot in the forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Horror movies are the forte of 'North of Hollywood' founder, James Bynum, and are known to be the easiest type of film to sell or find a distributor for.

Our second feature film, "Angels Crossing" is a Supernatural Psychological Thriller.

We have the plan and we have the talent to become a highly successful independent film production company, bringing the film industry to the San Jose/San Francisco Southbay Area.

While we enjoy a good art film as much as the next film fan. The people who produce "Art Films" often turn their nose up at the mention of a mainstream Hollywood Picture.

At 'North of Hollywood', we don’t see making 'popular' movies as 'selling-out'. We want to produce films that our family and friends will enjoy too, not just film enthusiasts. Our goal is to create high-quality movies that possess a wide appeal, for a bargain price, that could easily be mistaken for a Hollywood film costing much, much more.

We want our films to be distributed, and we want them to be seen by as many people as possible. At 'North of Hollywood Productions', we think that’s what filmmaking is all about - entertaining our audience.
