Why Should I Get Involved?

'North of Hollywood Productions' is a new production company. We represent a rare opportunity to get involved with a production company from the very beginning.

At this early stage we cannot give you a pay check, but there is a great deal that we do have to offer. There are valuable Screen Credits, great experience for your resume, a chance to work on an award winning film, film festival screenings, written recommendations, free copies of the movie(s) you've worked on, cast and crew parties, and exclusive "Crew Only" items.

All of the filmmakers listed in the above link are independent filmmakers that made it big - Really Big. They not only got themselves established, but they also achieved some degree of Celebrity. So, is fame required to be a successful filmmaker?

Not for us. Earning the opportunity to keep making more movies (larger movies with bigger budgets), seems pretty successful to us.

As with so many things in life, "Nothing ventured - Nothing gained". Independent films do sometimes breakthrough, and those filmmakers who are along for the ride get a huge boost to their careers overnight. Doors open and opportunities present themselves. Sometimes lives can changed forever by something as silly as a low budget horror movie that becomes successful, like: "Night of the Living Dead", "Bad Taste", "The Evil Dead" and "The Blair Witch Project".

Hit movie or not, you’ll meet and work with people that will become your future filmmaking connections (and maybe even lifelong friends). You’ll spend time in the company of other talented artists and build memories to last a lifetime. All this and more in return for little more than an investment of your time, labor and passion.

Most of us know where we’d like to be, but are not headed in the right direction to get there. Unless we change our direction of travel, we will eventually get where we are going. Are you headed in a direction that takes you where you really want to go?
